On Saturday 24th October, Photomagic School held the official graduation ceremony for the 7th and 8th class since inception in October 2013. It was a red and black affair at Mageuzi theatre – Pawa 254, Nairobi.
The key guest was Rahim Kara, a photographer who first took pictures for fun from an early age of 8 years and has been commercially practicing photography for over 15 years. Rahim operates under the brand Megapixels Productions. He is also a Certified Adobe Expert, Apple Products Trainer, and Wildlife enthusiast.
Patrick Mbugua popularly known as ‘Patrick Pato’ and a trainer at Photomagic also graced the occasion. Patrick is mostly known for his cover photography work in the popular Parents magazine. He is a photography trainer and hones skills mostly on product and architectural photography. Pato runs Buz Studio located in Muthaiga, Nairobi.
The students from both intakes performed very well, with most of them exceeding their own expectations. Most recounted how hard it seemed at first as they tried to grasp the technical terms but more than ten weeks later, they were confident of themselves having completed what had seemed like a big hurdle.
There were two outstanding students from both April 2015 and July 2015 intakes. Both rated five stars for their dedication, time, and energy, prompt and timely submission of assignments. The two, George Adulu and David Luwigi, aced the course coming out tops. The top student was rewarded with a gift voucher worth Ksh. 15,000 at Universal Gift Center.
The certificate award session was followed by a mini-exhibition and pin-up exercise where the students showcased their work, with family and friends around.
At the roof top of Pawa 254, cocktails and snacks were served as graduands, family and friends celebrated. Everyone had a good time marking great milestones achieved. A photography session by Antony Trivet then followed shortly afterwards. The whole of Photomagic team wishes the budding photographers a bright and successful future as they sail into unchartered seas in the creative art of picture taking.
