As wedding photographers, we often find ourselves pushing the fact that video and photo is the only service that engages you after the wedding. At times couples say its ‘business language’, but it’s just the truth. You never visit your stylist, you don’t care where the limo went after your function, you even wouldn’t care where the food went!
Therefore, when it’s all said and done, it is good to have a good video edit, and a good wedding photo album. Albums and/or photo books these days come in many sizes, colours and types of finishes. Some newlyweds are not keen on having hard printed copies of the best shots. All they have is Facebook, a blog post and a treasured folder on their laptop.
It is important to invest in a good wedding album. Give your parents a reason to re-live the biggest day of your life. Give visitors to your new home a reason to savour wedding moments with glee again. Have a perfect package that your children will look at and desire to walk down the isle like you did. And your options are many.
From years back we have the usual not-so-long-lasting slip in albums that usually take the 4×6 inch pictures. Then there are the ‘stick-on’ books that allow your visitors to ‘nyakua’ your best shots and hide them. There are cheaper quality stick-on albums and better hardcover varieties that last a little bit longer than normal. Maybe five, six or seven years if carefully handled. Then came the hard cover book-bound photo books. Some have leather covers, others have canvas covers, and the colour options are as many. These books are durable, have a classy finish, and give room for designs in their layout. If the costs for these fall within your wedding budget, that’s the way to go. They are quite flexible. You can choose the number of pages, size, cover size and many other things.
